Frequently asked questions
How does WalkFog work?
Start a walk in the app and go. As you move, the map tiles you pass through unlock and fill in with color. Your progress is saved per city, so over time you can watch your map of the city fill in tile by tile.
Does the app track my location all the time?
No. Location is collected only while a walk is active. Ending the walk stops location updates immediately. You can change or revoke location permission at any time in iOS Settings.
My tiles did not unlock. What should I check?
- Make sure you tapped Start Walk before you started moving.
- Check that WalkFog has location permission: iOS Settings > WalkFog > Location. For walks with your phone locked, choose Always.
- Make sure Location Services is turned on and you have a GPS signal. Dense downtown areas and tunnels can delay tile unlocks.
How do I save my progress?
WalkFog works without an account. To keep your progress safe across devices, link Sign in with Apple or Google from the Profile tab. Your tiles live on your phone until you do.
How does WalkFog Premium work?
Premium unlocks your full walk history and all cities. Subscriptions are billed through Apple and renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel in your App Store account settings.
How do I restore my purchase?
If you reinstalled the app or switched devices, open the app's settings and use the restore option, or tap the Premium upgrade again. Apple will recognize your active subscription and restore it at no extra charge.
How do I delete my data?
Use Delete my data in the app's Settings to permanently delete your account, unlocked tiles, and walk history. You can also email us with a deletion request.
